Life Can Be Hard Sometimes

Many thanks to the

Coronado Animal Clinic
and R.B. Leonard Jr. D.V.M.
and his staff.

Dr. Rob has truly been a life saver for WarBirdBob on several occasions.

On Wednesday morning, Sept. 19 Bob just didn't seem to be himself. A little later in the morning I noticed Bob in his litter box for a very long time.
I thought about getting him a good magazine to read but got distracted and forgot about his problem, assuming everything had worked out OK.
At coffee break Bob hobbled in and sat with us looking very distressed. He seemed to be in some sort of pain.

We talked it over and decided to have Gary take Bob to see Dr. Rob.
When I went to his office I found him in a business meeting with two ladies. Not wanting to disturb him I said "When you are done I need to see you."

As I returned to where Bob was I could see his condition was deteriorating. I went back to Gary's office, interrupting his meeting, and said "I think we need to get Bob to Dr. Rob." When Gary asked what was wrong I said he was having convulsions and some bleeding.
Gary said, very calmly, "Just have Jeff take my truck and take Bob to Dr. Rob". He then went on with his meeting. The ladies looked at us quite strange.
Jeff not knowing where Dr. Robs office was, again interrupted Gary's meeting. The ladies now wanted to stop the meeting immediately. It was not until then, that I realized they didn't know Bob was a cat, not an employee.
Gary rushed Bob to Dr. Rob, as the ladies quite relieved, left to continue the meeting another day.
Bob has kidney stones and his urinary track was completely blocked.
Dr. Rob is working his miracles and Bob is expected to make a full recovery.
Every time Dr. Rob passes Bob's cage Bob growls and hisses. I guess he doesn't quite appreciate what the Doc is doing for him.
This picture is of a very unhappy WarBirdBob with a collar on at the hospital.
We miss you Bob and hope to have you back soon!
Update: Sept. 30
Bob came back to us on Tue. of this past week and seemed fine. On Friday he was not doing well and has been readmitted to the hospital.
Our prayers are with Bob, at this, yet another crisis time.
I will up date you as his present crisis unfolds.

Update: Oct 4
Bob came back again on Monday of this week and is still doing fine.
He is on a special diet and some pills. Still not his old self but coming around.
In the mornings I find him sleeping on the tug rather than climbing on the aircraft as usual. He does come and greet me and is quite impatient waiting for Vince to arrive and give him his special food.
PS The 2 ladies retuned today to complete their meeting with Gary and were pleased to see Bob, a cat, in good health.

Update: Oct 9
Bob is getting back to his old self. Even caught a mouse today.
